Our Charter
Prince George's County Tennis and Education Foundation Inc. (PGTEF) is a registered USTA Community Tennis Association that provides opportunities for youngsters to excel academically, athletically and socially through tennis.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that develops programs to enrich the lives of under-served county youth through productive activities. Founded in 1993, PGTEF develops academic, athletic, and life skills through programs that foster self-esteem and academic achievement. What We Do
PGTEF administers four core programs that develop and promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, life skills, and academic excellence. Our programs feature:
- certified professional instructors
- seasoned coaches
- consistency of coaches
- state of the art training equipment
- safe environment where children can learn
Our Programs
- WIP - Weekend Instruction Program
Year round, weekends and evening tennis instructions provide by our experienced coaching staff. We have schedules for beginner, intermediate, and advance players.
A beginning tennis instruction program that operates through various school districts and community centers during the school year. Junior Outreach Program is a free program for at-risk and low-income youths.
- College Prep & Personal Development
Provides weekly SAT preparation, life skills education, and college scholarship opportunities to high school members of the PGTEF and their parents.
- High Performance Training
Provides intense tennis instruction to develop talented players for competition. This program operates year round. A coach's recommendation is required to be considered for this program.
